Tiny Ballerinas
Age 2-3
These classes introduce a structured environment while allowing children to recognize their own individuality and body mobility. Focus is on coordination and rhythm introduced in creative and imaginative ways. Keeping students entertained while learning beginning dance skills will help them to acquire a lifelong love for
dance. They will learn the introduction of ballet movements.
Tiny Tumble
2-4 years
This is a great introduction to tumbling for children just developing their coordination. It introduces the child to a group class with the presence of someone there to make them feel more comfortable. The teacher guides the tot in a way that makes discovering movement, balance, and listening skills easy and fun! This class is an excellent first group activity! This class aides in the skills necessary to become an independent learner and move to either the Creative Movement or Tumbling Tots class.
Tiny HipHop
Ages 2-4
Creative Movement
Ages 3-4
This creative movement program covers many pre-ballet & pre-tap skills such as rhythmic coordination, simple exercises, tested dance movements, development of large motor skills, counting, singing and make-believe. This level of training provides the child with a social outlet, exposing the child to others outside their usual circle of personal contact. It also introduces the child to the experience of taking instruction from a person other than their own parent. This discipline of dance training also aids in the development of the child’s attention span.
Ballet
Ages 5+
Ballet consists of many basic principles and movements. This class breaks down feet and arm positions, barre and center combinations, and across the floor combinations. Students will gain flexibility, improve their body carriage and attain the look, grace and confidence of being a dancer. This ballet program can lead to basic pointe work and will familiarize your child with proper technique while having fun! Dancers will be placed in the correct class for their level of training.
Jazz
Ages 5+
Jazz dance combines techniques of classical ballet and modern dance with the current forms of popular dance. Jazz also has its own movement vocabulary ranging from the isolation of certain body parts to the movement of the entire body with the accents of musical rhythms. Jazz dance can take on many different characteristics and styles, including Street Jazz, Percussive, Broadway, Contemporary and Lyrical. Jazz classes can be patterned in any of these styles or a combination of them. Emphasis is on the importance of energy, rhythmical accuracy, and style. Each level of jazz is a continuation of the previous level and increases in difficulty. Dancers will be placed in the correct class for their level of training.
Hip Hop 1 & 2
Beginner Hip Hop is a class designed to focus on introductory hip hop skills for students who are in kindergarten or first grade. Students will learn basic isolation's and breaking movements and they will begin to work on basic popping and locking. Students will gain strength while in the class while developing a sense of athletic achievement, self-esteem, and social skills that will last a lifetime. Dancers will be placed in the correct class for their level of training.
Hip Hop 3 & 4
Hip hop dance is a funk style dance that has an urban background. It covers gliding, popping, locking, and breaking movements. This class breaks down the basics of break dancing and fuses together today’s latest hip hop and funk styles mixed with old school movements and stunts. This style of dance trains dancers to develop a strong use of body isolation. Dancers will be placed in the correct class for their level of training.
Contemporary
Ages 5+
Contemporary is not a specific dance technique but a collection of methods fused from modern dance elements and classical ballet elements. It consists of abstract movement that does not necessarily tell a story. Contemporary dance is unpredictable movement with great speed and changing of rhythm and directions, focusing on emotion, balance and improvisation. Students will learn choreography that appears disordered but relies greatly on technique. Dancers will be placed in the correct class for their level of training.
Tap
Ages 5+
Tap dancing emphasizes rhythm, tempo, timing, counting, and basic coordination. This class offers the fundamentals in correct technique and can advance to trick steps such as wings, over the tops, pullbacks as well as rhythm turns and progressions across the floor and and in center. Students will learn variations of mastered steps and work on strength, speed, skills, stamina, style, and virtuosity. Dancers will be placed in the correct class for their level of training.
Acro/Tumbling-Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced (levels 1,2,3)
Ages 5+
This class teaches the fundamentals of tumbling by focusing on flexibility, conditioning, body control, strength development, and terminology. Students will learn basic body positions and tumbling skills at their level. Acrobatic skills include back bends (bridges), handstands, cartwheels, rolls (forward, backward, straddle), walkovers, aerials, and handsprings. Students will be split into beginner and intermediate classes based on their current level. D
